Are you saying you're concerned about your ability to drive it, or that you weren't impressed? The C6 is much better, and I imagine the C6 Z06 is just a monster

No I was blown away at the C5's handling but my ability to drive stick is still weak. VERY weak. I was gonna go trial by fire wit the Viper.

That sounds like literally the worst idea.

Go get something cheap and slow with a manual before you kill yourself in a Viper. Miatas are fun and good to learn on.

I'm going Maserati. My girlfriend's mom has a blue one. It's a blast to drive, but doesn't give off the same "look at me I'm probably going through my midlife crisis. Yeah, fast American cars and loud exhaust! YEAH! 'MERICA! FREEDOM! GUNS!" vibe as a Viper.

Miata's aren't slow. Go autocrossing and see if you can beat one in a more powerful car.

They're light enough that even in a straight line they get moving pretty quickly.

The Viper would actually be fairly easy to drive for a stick newbie, almost impossible to stall due to massive torque at all rpm ranges.
